What is Artha (heyartha.com)?
Artha is India's anonymous professional talk network — built for CA students, traders, UPSC aspirants, founders, and early-career professionals who are tired of performing on LinkedIn and staying guarded in their own batch group. Instead of another feed to scroll, Artha puts you in a real, one-on-one conversation with someone who's going through exactly what you are — no profile, no name, no reputation on the line.
The name Artha comes from Sanskrit, where it means wealth, purpose, and prosperity — one of the four aims of a meaningful life in the Purushartha framework. That's fitting: Artha isn't idle chat, it's conversation that helps you build your career, your craft, and your clarity.
Live at heyartha.com, Artha is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — add it to your phone's home screen without downloading anything from the Play Store.
How Artha Works
Most chat apps connect you with random people and let you figure out the rest. Artha does things differently.
Before you get matched with anyone, you choose a room — the professional world you want to talk in right now. Need to vent about audit season? Talk shop about a trade gone wrong? Compare notes on UPSC mains prep? You pick the room, Artha matches you with someone else who picked the same one.
That single step changes everything. When both people enter a conversation from the same world, the conversation immediately feels different. More useful. Less awkward.
Here's the full flow:
- Sign in with OTP — Your phone number is used only to verify you. No names, no public profiles.
- Pick a room — Choose from 5 rooms based on what you need to talk about right now.
- Get matched — Artha connects you with someone who picked the same room.
- Talk straight — No performance needed. The other person doesn't know who you are.
- Decide what comes next — Let the conversation end naturally, or continue as a Bond.
Prefer talking to someone you already know instead of a stranger? Use Nirjan to invite a peer directly — same privacy, no profiles, just the two of you.
The 5 Rooms
Every match on Artha starts with one of these rooms. You pick the one that fits what you actually need to talk about right now.
CA Talks
Articleship, audit, tax, exam pressure, firm life — the stuff you can't ask in the batch group without everyone judging. This room matches you with someone in the exact same grind.
Traders' Talk
Stocks, F&O, crypto, setups, losses, psychology. No flexing, no fake calls — just honest talk about what's actually working and what isn't.
UPSC Talk
Prelims, mains, optionals, attempts, the pressure that builds year over year. This room matches you with someone who understands the grind because they're living it too.
Founders' Room
Cap tables, hiring, first customers, burnout — the real conversations behind building something, without the LinkedIn polish.
Just Talk Shop
Any professional conversation that doesn't fit a specific category. If you're not sure which room to pick, start here.
Core Features
Bonds
When a conversation is genuinely good, neither person wants it to just disappear. Artha's Bonds feature lets both users mutually choose to stay connected after the match ends.
A Bond creates a shared, private space that belongs to both of you. It's not a friend request and it's not a follow. It's something closer to a private room you both have a key to. You can return to your Bond space anytime and continue where you left off.
Bonds require mutual consent — both people have to choose it. And Bonds are available on Pro and Elite plans only, because both users need to be on one of those plans to activate and use a Bond.
Memories
Some conversations are worth keeping. Memories lets you preserve a chat so you can come back to it later — reread it, reflect on it, or just know that it's still there.
Memories are private — only you can see them. And because Artha is anonymous, the other person in your Memory never knows you saved it.
Memories are available starting from the Plus plan.
| Plan | Memory Slots |
|---|---|
| Free | Not available |
| Spark | Not available |
| Plus | Up to 5 Memories |
| Pro | Up to 10 Memories |
| Elite | Unlimited Memories |
Quick Lines
Starting a conversation with a stranger can feel awkward, even on an anonymous platform. Quick Lines are pre-written opening messages you can send with one tap to get things moving.
They're not scripts — they're just conversation starters that fit the intent you chose, so you don't stare at a blank screen.
Murmurs
Not everything that needs to be communicated is a word. Murmurs are animated, wordless reactions you can send during a chat — little expressions of emotion that don't interrupt the flow of the conversation. They're especially useful in the middle of a conversation, when a typed response would break the flow but you still want to react.
Nirjan — Talk Privately With People You Know
Nirjan (Sanskrit: निर्जन, meaning secluded) lets you talk to someone you already know — a friend — without it living on WhatsApp or Instagram forever.
How it works:
- Tap "Invite a peer" from the room picker and generate a private invite link.
- Send it to your friend, however you want — WhatsApp, Instagram, anywhere.
- They open it, join, and you're both dropped straight into a private chat.
- When the conversation ends, it's permanently deleted — for both of you. No history, no trace.
You can run several Nirjan conversations at once with different friends, each one separate. Sending an invite uses one of your daily matches, same as any other conversation on Artha.
Nirjan isn't for saving conversations — it's the opposite. It exists for the conversations you want to have and then let go of completely.
Prabha — The Manifestation Sky
Prabha (Sanskrit: प्रभा, meaning radiance) is a separate space within Artha at heyartha.com/prabha.
Think of it as an anonymous manifestation sky. You write a wish — a hope, an intention, something you're holding onto — and release it as a star into the shared sky. Other users can visit the sky and offer a prayer on your star: a small, silent gesture of support.
How the glow works:
Stars glow brighter as more people pray on them. The glow reflects how many people have acknowledged your wish without anyone knowing whose wish it is.
| Prayers Received | Glow Level |
|---|---|
| 0 | Faint |
| 1–4 | Soft |
| 5–19 | Halo |
| 20–99 | Bright |
| 100+ | Radiant |
How to use Prabha:
- Visit heyartha.com/prabha — no login needed.
- Write your wish or intention (up to 250 characters).
- Release it as a star into the shared sky.
- Come back to see how many people prayed on it.
- You can release one star per day per device.
When a star speaks to you in the sky, there's an option to open a conversation on Artha — for those moments when a wish becomes the start of a conversation.
Prabha is fully free and anonymous. No account is needed to view the sky or pray on a star.
Spandan — Your Personal Story Garden
Spandan (Sanskrit: स्पंदन, meaning heartbeat) is a personal storytelling space at heyartha.com/spandan. Every Artha user gets their own Vatika — a personal garden with five mythological trees, each holding a different emotional territory.
When you write a story or journal entry, it becomes a leaf on the tree that matches your mood. Over time, your Vatika becomes a living map of your emotional life.
The five trees in your Vatika:
| Tree | Emotional Territory | Colour |
|---|---|---|
| Ashwattha | Pain, fear, anger, confusion | Indigo |
| Ashoka | Love, nostalgia | Rose-pink |
| Kalpavriksha | Hope, gratitude | Gold |
| Kadamba | Joy | Amber-yellow |
| Parijata | Peace, acceptance | White-silver |
How leaves work:
- You can set a leaf as private or public.
- Private leaves are visible only to you.
- Public leaves glow and can be read by visitors to your Vatika.
- Visitors can leave a silent reaction — a Korean finger heart called "Felt this" — on public leaves they connect with. No count is shown to the visitor, only the leaf owner can see it.
Spandan is free for all Artha users. There's no monetization gating on storytelling — it's part of the core experience.
Yatra — Your River of Time
Yatra (Sanskrit: यात्रा, meaning journey) is a private, personal timeline at heyartha.com/yatra. Every moment you log — a milestone, a hard day, a quiet joy — becomes a lit diya on your personal river of time.
Unlike a journal, which is freeform and undated, Yatra is structured: each moment is dated, typed, and placed along a timeline that reflects the actual shape of your life.
The six moment types:
| Moment Type | Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Milestone | Gold | Achievements, firsts, markers of growth |
| Peak | Cyan | High points, best days, moments of clarity |
| Valley | Indigo | Hard times, setbacks, the days that tested you |
| Turning Point | Rose | Life changes, decisions that shifted your path |
| Gratitude | Warm white | Things you are thankful for, big and small |
| Quiet Joy | Soft green | Small, gentle happiness — the kind you almost miss |
How it works:
- Log a moment — pick the date, the type, and write what happened.
- It becomes a diya on your river — a light in your personal timeline.
- Your river is completely private. Nobody else sees your moments.
- Come back anytime. Your river, your pace.
Yatra is free for all Artha users. There is no paywall on remembering your own life.

Privacy and Safety on Artha
Artha is built on a few non-negotiable principles:
No profiles, no photos, no usernames. The only thing the other person ever knows about you is the intent you chose. That's it.
Conversations don't persist by default. When a chat ends, it's gone. The only exception is if you choose to save it as a Memory (a paid feature that only you can access).
OTP-only authentication. You sign in with your phone number and a one-time password. No email, no social login, no stored passwords.
Age gate and explicit consent. Artha is for users 18 and above. Consent screens are shown before sensitive intents.
Block user option. If anyone makes you uncomfortable, you can block them immediately.
Crisis resource surfacing. Artha is designed to recognise when someone might be in distress and surface relevant support resources when appropriate.
Account deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
Who is Artha For?
Artha is built specifically for India's ambitious 18–30 year olds — CA students, articled clerks, traders, UPSC aspirants, early-career founders, and working professionals — who feel like they're performing everywhere. Grateful on LinkedIn. Guarded in the batch group. Composed at home.
Artha doesn't want any of that. It wants the conversation you'd have if your reputation wasn't on the line.
You might find Artha useful if:
- You're grinding through something — articleship, an exam attempt, a launch, a trade gone wrong — that the people around you don't fully get.
- You want a straight answer, not a polished LinkedIn non-answer.
- You want to talk shop with someone who's actually been through it, without anyone finding out who you are.
- You're building something — a career, a practice, a startup — and the loneliness of ambition is real.
- You want a space to reflect and be heard without building a public identity.
Who Made Artha?
Artha is built and run by Shivam Kushwaha — 18 years old, from Indore, preparing for CA. He built Artha after living the same loneliness Artha exists to solve: having to perform everywhere, with nowhere left to just be honest.
Artha isn't a launch for him. It's a conviction — that India's ambitious generation deserves one honest corner of the internet.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Artha (heyartha.com)?
Artha is an anonymous, intent-based chat platform where you choose the kind of conversation you want — emotional support, venting, love advice, a late-night debate, or just company — and get matched with someone seeking the same. There are no profiles, no photos, and no usernames.
Is Artha free to use?
Yes. Artha's core experience is completely free. The free plan gives you 5 matches per day across all 12 intents, plus full access to Prabha, Spandan, and Yatra. Paid plans (starting at ₹29/week) add more daily matches and features like Memories and Bonds.
Is Artha safe and truly anonymous?
Artha uses OTP-based authentication, which means your phone number is used to verify you. Beyond that, no profile is created, no name is stored, and your conversations are not saved after the session ends unless you choose to save them as a Memory. The other person in your chat never sees your phone number or any identifying information.
What is the difference between Artha and Omegle?
Omegle (now shut down) matched people completely at random. Artha starts with intent — both people choose the kind of conversation they want before they meet. That difference changes everything about the quality and depth of what follows.
What are Bonds on Artha?
Bonds are a mutual, ongoing connection between two users on Artha. When both people in a conversation want to stay connected beyond the match, they can activate a Bond — a shared private space that persists. Bonds require both users to be on a Pro or Elite plan.
What are Memories on Artha?
Memories are saved conversations that you can revisit any time. They're private — only you can see your Memories. Saving a Memory doesn't notify the other person. Memories are available on Plus, Pro, and Elite plans.
What is Prabha on Artha?
Prabha (heyartha.com/prabha) is an anonymous manifestation sky. You release a wish as a star, and other users can silently pray on it, making your star glow brighter. It's fully free and requires no login to view.
What is Spandan on Artha?
Spandan (heyartha.com/spandan) is a personal storytelling space. Every user gets a Vatika — a garden with five mythological trees that hold different emotional territories. You write stories and they become leaves on the tree that matches your mood. Leaves can be private or public. It's free for all Artha users.
What is Yatra on Artha?
Yatra (heyartha.com/yatra) is a private, personal timeline where you log moments that build into your own river of time. Each moment is dated and typed — Milestone, Peak, Valley, Turning Point, Gratitude, or Quiet Joy — and becomes a lit diya on your river. It is completely private, free with 50 moments lifetime.
How is Yatra different from Journal on Artha?
Journal is a freeform text space for daily thoughts. Yatra is a structured timeline — each moment is dated, typed, and becomes a lit diya on your river. Journal is for writing. Yatra is for remembering.
What are the 12 intents on Artha?
The 12 intents are: Heart to Heart, Vent Mode, Love Advice, Mind Wander, Just Company, Spark, Stranger Stories, No Agenda, Celebrate, CA Talks, Traders Talk, and With Friends (which is a private invite-only option). Each intent sets the tone for the conversation before you even say hello.
What are Quick Lines on Artha?
Quick Lines are pre-written conversation starters you can send with one tap when a match begins. They're intent-specific, so they fit the mood of the conversation you signed up for.
What are Murmurs on Artha?
Murmurs are animated, wordless reactions you can send during a chat. They're especially useful in emotional conversations where a typed response doesn't quite capture what you want to express.
Does Artha have an app?
Artha is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can open it in your browser at heyartha.com and add it to your phone's home screen — it works just like a native app, without needing to download anything from the Play Store or App Store.
What is the minimum age to use Artha?
Artha is for users 18 years and above.
Can I delete my Artha account?
Yes. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time.
What is Nirjan on Artha?
Nirjan is a private, invite-only conversation space for talking to people you already know — friends, not strangers. You send a single-use invite link, your friend joins, and when the chat ends, it's permanently deleted for both of you.
Can I use Artha to talk to friends, not just strangers?
Yes. While Artha is best known for anonymous stranger conversations, Nirjan lets you have the same private, pressure-free conversations with people you already know.
How do I contact Artha for support or grievances?
You can reach the Artha team at support@heyartha.com or raise a formal grievance at grievance@heyartha.com.
